come homeA Poem by V M Smithi come home every day and imagine you sitting on the counter.
you smile at me, as i walk through the door, and sip your coffee with a smirk.
i walk through the living room with a smirk to match yours, while you swing your legs and continue sipping coffee.
you bite the edge of the cup.
i stand before you and grin,
but you're so far away dragging your tired body through mud.
climbing over fake walls, then crying yourself to sleep for another night.
i wish you would come home. © 2013 V M Smith |
