Chapter 7: Gone

It was beyond difficult to go to school for the next couple of weeks. Everytime I would walk into class, Sarah would try to talk to me, to see what was wrong. I don't blame her for not knowing, I mean, she obviously likes Mike and not me. As hard as that is for me to say, it's the first step to moving on.
I walk down the hall after leaving class one day to hear someone say my name behind me. "Yvonne." I stop dead in my tracks. I know that beautiful, sweet voice. I turn slowly and look up into Sarah's beautiful eyes.
I muster up all the strength I can, and say, cool and calm, "Hey Sarah. What's up? Something wrong?" I smile, and she seems to buy it.
"I just wanted to say hey, and to see how you're doing. I should probably get to class." She looks to her feet. "I'll text you later."

And before I knew it, she was gone... again.
