Porcelain Cheeks

Porcelain Cheeks

A Poem by Brandee D. Hack

Tears fall down these porcelain cheeks.
I am not sure anymore.
Is there something I need?
Something I can forget?

You make me think long and hard,
but I never know who the wiser is.
Logic seems to beacon your heart,
where mine is lead by feelings.

I wonder what will befall us?
Two star-crossed lovers
and by fate we meet.
Sometimes I think it is fate.

Fate isn't always good or bad,
but for me it is mostly sad.

I am lead in the most odd ways,
from your words - my body sways.

I've fainted from all this dread
of saying things wrong - missing bed.

But only left is memories of us
but melancholy feelings leading only to lust.

I want to show you my hearts desire
I am not willing to play with this fire.

But ice seems to become a great relation,
making me think of you being inpatient.

Confusion is hard to live with, and as we grow to become more and more complex confusion seem to be more dominant.
Some things get solved with time, some things become a greater mystery, but no one's life is completely logic-full and emotion-less.
As for me, I tend to side with emotion for the most part, especially when it comes to such things, because love isn't logic - it wouldn't be as magical if it was.

I really like the structure, which seems to change drastically after the 3rd stanza. The fact that the shorter stanzas seem to rhyme on and off broke my concentration a bit though.
But I still like it a lot - well done. :)
