the coral in mutationA Poem by Latifaafter months of hibernating imagination.

![]() adieu salty waters. I'm departing with the urgency to feel the breeze. they say it's dry but mild, mild but striking. A very honorable performer, striking life, invading the porous earth with the intention of rebirth, granting whispers of throbbing elation. I learned to dance wet. here I shall swirl waterless. wearing my green laced leaves and growing wooden branches. I heard the flora tribe of whom I'll join has that custom. I 'll be a maiden bride, wearing a green gown, nesting my rainbow parade of colors, prolongably beneath the strokes of that yellowish disk of whom I heard endless stories. I'll witness a less gloomy darkness, in the union of a dandy army that flickers mystic winks of light. adieu salty waters. the brackish tenure is well over now. I set forth into the dry and wait for the seasonal cloudburst to spring me homesick. © 2016 Latifa |
