The Bluster of April

The Bluster of April

A Poem by John B. Bolling
"

"

April's flurry, blustery and grand;

Tranquil shores with blowing sand,

The saddest sight imaginable,

Losing what once was traceable.

The hand outstretched before you,

The eyes that broke your heart in two;

A million stars could not illuminate

The ground like when she radiates.

A brilliance you never realized,

The doubts within you always despised;

Insensitive to what lied within reach,

Now you're a lonely bird on the beach,

Wingless, cemented to the earth;

Maybe if gave credence to self-worth,

Happiness could have been yours,

Instead alone on these April shores.
