BoomA Poem by -!katie!-Pooring rain, crashing skies. "Mommy, what's that boom?" She says, "honey, that's a thunderstorm." Loud noises, echoing through the house. powerless rooms, dark and scary, as the lightning blinks and silhouettes the jagged trees outside the window. Questions running through my mind. "Am I going to die?" "Is this the end of the world?" "Dear, it's only a storm. It will pass. Don't worry." Nothing calms me. Shaking, sitting on the ground. I must get away from the windows. Candles flicker, not helping the darkness at all. Crying, shivering. What is happening? "Mommy, I don't like the boom." © 2008 -!katie!-Author's Note
