Loneliness
A Poem by
Bruce
In the cold dead night
there is little solace
save a sweet memory
of your soft skin
warm to the touch
New Years Eve
the air
charged with
the notion of rebirth
but I know
that promises
written on the back
of cocktail napkins
are seldom kept
