I do believe in the reciprocal nature of love.
Therefore, we must put in the work that is required from both partners in love.
Patience, forgiveness, effort, time, understanding, compromise, faithfulness, playfulness, camaraderie...
all these virtues are the various parts that add up, lovingly blending to make love the sweetest experience.
So, as Michael Jackson insinuates in 'Man in the mirror', we must ask ourselves, concerning relationships:
What can I do to make things work out? Do I expect too much from others? Have I got flaws? What are my true intentions in this relationship? Am I being selfish? Do I appreciate the good in others? Do I make the effort required to make a relationship work? Am I quick to judge my partner and constantly looking for flaws? Do I only focus on my own satisfaction, thinking that the world revolves only around me?
After this self-evaluation, there is a chance that we might realise that we too can make that difference.
However, if anybody takes our love for granted, despite our good intentions and effort in reciprocity, then we have the absolute right to move on with our lives, for remaining in a toxic atmosphere of a relationship does not help anybody.
I am a young creative and creator. I fell in love with writing poetry as a young teenager when I was trying to get through hard times. Regardless, I excel in any type of writing I put my mind to. I am.. more..
