another 8th grade poem, for the same assignment if i'm not mistaken

I turned on the news,
Heard things I didn’t want to.
More people had been hurt.
More children had died,
Or cried themselves to sleep.
And I started to think…

Seems like all you hear anymore
Is hurricanes, suicides, death.
It hurts even more
Knowing what you don’t hear
The kids with no voice,
They’ve seen abuse, hate, but not any love.

People dieing,
Children crying,
Everyday is the same thing.
Why not let it out now,
It’s time to feel how
Life was meant to be.
It’s time to feel free.

So many things going on,
Feels like we’re already gone,
Because so many people are
Looking at other’s lives,
You start to get depressed.
With all the pain,
And all the hate,
And all the tears.

People dieing,
Children crying,
Everyday is the same thing.
Why not let it out now,
It’s time to feel how
Life was meant to be.
It’s time to feel free.

Very powerful and you use every word effectively. There are a couple places that could be cleaned up to make it flow a little better. There's a lot of emotion behind it and it has a fantastic and inspiring message. I'd love to see you write a similar poem now, with all of the progress you've made as a writer in the last few years.
