Elegy for a Suicidal Manchild
A Poem by Thomas B. Buckman
A five minute poem thing I wrote many moons ago.
It all started whilst I mowed the lawn.
"Yay I'm mowing the lawn!" I said
And then it happened,
it happened so fast
I veered to the right,
I veered to the left,
I missed many birds, snakes, and rocks
but not Hoppy the Frog
"OH NO!" I said in my dismay.
"I hit Hoppy the Frog today!"
At first I stood,
in shock of course.
I gathered him up,
his guts and pieces.
And drove to the bluff,
in my lawn mower, thinking.
I stood at the bluff,
and took a dive.
Hit a rock,
and hurt myself.

Not exactly a serious piece. Its very childish.

I like your "disclaimer" that it isn't serious, 'cause I would've read it a few more times trying to figure out!
I can relate in a few ways; I too live by a bluff, and I also accidentally killed a frog with a stone when I was 8. Totally distraught, and my classmates held a trial for it! I was innocent in the end, frogslaughter charges waived!
