Two Can Keep A Secret

Two Can Keep A Secret

A Poem by Ruminating Archaeologist
"

"two can keep a secret if one of them is dead" I'm...not really sure. Wrote on a whim. Interpret how you will, I suppose.

"
these headphones around my neck
make my chest hurt, make my ears bleed
and yet there's nothing wrong with me.

some part of me understands we can't say
everything,
but I feel we're missing something
important.

makes my heart hurt when they
can't get it through their heads
can't get it past their brick walls.

we're not okay. we're lying.

and this pain I know
we're feeling I know
it'll pass
(it always does) without a doubt.
but how can the two of us keep secrets

when both of us lie dead?
