Commercial free Life

Commercial free Life

A Poem by David
"

I was watching television the other day and got very sick of how many commercials there were.

"

I stare at the scratched out channels,

pondering what the comanies are hiding behind the static,

a camera with all eyes on me.

My sitcom goes on,

no interruptions to save me,

I am forced to perform on the stage of life.

Dance for my food,

smile for drink,

murder for my warmth and safety.

I am running on empty,

the film must be rewound,

played again for your amusement,

where am I in the picture,

I am the snow.

"24 hour coverage"

"Live from New York"

"Your program has been deleted"

The company has hidden my life behind the static,

so change the channel,

maybe watch the news or a game show,

with no commercials permitted,

so shut the t.v. off and read my poems.
