Stubborn meA Poem by Matt M.
Stubborn Me
There she goes through my hands Like at the beach grains of sand She poured her heart out Tried to give me a shout out Yet there's me, stubborn me I ignored her signs of love for me Though I thought it was blasphemy For who could love this atrocity Poor and stubborn me Time passed on and we grew up Though it makes me throw up With the guilt that I grieve How can I please Ol stubborn me? Orchids bloom in the air Then I see dark shimmering hair Brown eyes and freckles too Sitting in a booth seated for two I wander on over to say hi Yet I see another man In the corner of my eye Sitting next to her with his hand on her thigh I stand there awkwardly Turned around and walked quickly Thinking to myself how can this be Finding the solution It's stubborn me © 2013 Matt M. |
