My Little Heart

Wrote this last year when I had nothing to do.

My little heart
Some people say
Is made of gold
Survives the day
But it cannot be
All that easy
Because, you see
My little heart
Is just like paper.
Stepped on, torn appart
Covered with holes
Burnt black
And when I try
To fix my heart
It's a hard job
And my hands throb
In pain
As it falls appart
Once again.
Tears fall some more
And wet the paper
I'm all alone
To fix the disaster
So you see
My simple heart
Just cannot be
Torn appart
Or it will bleed on
And without help
My little heart
Will fade away.
My little heart
Is not made of gold
It is a friend
That'll make it hold.
