The Endless Glass Box

The Endless Glass Box

A Poem by Caitlin Lea

She sat looking at them
But not quite seeing
Her eyes often merry
Now still and quiet.

She couldn't reach them
For they were inside
And she on the outside
Of the endless glass box.

Here and there
The box cracked slightly
Enough for the children
To put their hands outside,

For the children
Were the only ones
She could ever seem
To understand.

She heard laughter
Felt the breeze
Sang with the rare song she knew
But was all alone.

She could never quite reach them
For they were inside
And she on the outside
Of the endless glass box.

That was brilliant, I'm horribly interested in what the glass box is, but I really love the mystery and enigma of the whole thing. Very well done :)

This had a sort of mystery to it. I enjoyed it a lot, very beautiful in its simplicity. Great job!

Interesting premise, and a sad tale.

Great writing
