A Poem by Carissa Marie

Take a look at me, 
I'm a reflection on a shattered glass, 
Jagged and distorted. 
I have no soft edges, 
All I have are shards and missing pieces, 
Of what was once a smooth gem. 
His sharp words have pierced through me, 
And left me with holes
I have no intention to fill.
I could have saved myself, 
I could have worn my suit of armor, 
But his love had left me unarmed. 
I knew it was foolish to fight,
And I lost the battle before it even start.

Those suits of armour are too heavy on the soul. We show our fragility and it gets broken, leaving us just pieces of who we were. Beautifully written.
