Sunflower Me

Pick my florets one by one

Discard them into the wind

Until nothing but my head remains

And that vibrant yellow ceases to exist

Witness my stem and leaves wither

From green to gray with time

Leave me with no energy to carry on

No strength to hold my head up high
Falling in wait for the future nigh
