In Love

In Love

A Poem by Cassandra

I adore the way the dust motes spin lazily
Through curtains of sun
And the way the atoms of my body...
Wobble
I slip into the silence of corners and cracks
These unstirred places
Your slender fingers, dangle
Still and asleep
I follow your laugh,
The corners of your lips reaching
Reaching
And the slant of your eyes
In my direction
I covet the murmur(it envelopes me)
Behind the empty of my eyelids
Dip your fingers in the cumbersome of these days
Swath it against your cheeks.
Sometimes I ponder
Am I in love with you?
Or am I in love with the day?
