difficulties of poetry

I'm a writer, but not a poet. Sometimes it's best to leave the undefinable undefined; and sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Poetry
to extract meaning from the abstract
to put feelings in words
when there are no words to be said.

 

Poetry
to express love
and virtues
and belief
all the things I learned couldn't be described.

 

Poetry
with its rhyme, rhythm,
repetition
with its style, voice,
and tone.

 

Poetry
so beautiful in its simiplicity
and meaningful in its epics
so impossible when everything finally seems
concrete.
