Unspeak

Unspeak

A Poem by Cari Lynn Vaughn

Unspeak

He who speaks first

speaks last

Erasing any possible

opposition fast

Word choice is chess

Check and Checkmate

without any mess

Sealing the dark fate

The argument is won

before it begins

and cannot be undone

Unforgivable sins

Subvert the subtext

shift the blame

and say what’s next

ending the game

One path is taken

Pro not Anti

Nothing mistaken

or gone astray

Reality in a moment

Schrodinger’s Cat

killed with poison sent

and that is that
