FortressA Poem by Cari Lynn VaughnFortunate fortress of solitude provides inner peaceFortress
My fortunate fortress of solitude Is a single square of special space That is my particular personal place All others I must, for now, exclude
Built of soft comforters and fleece Plenty of plush pillows and DVDs It is here I find my inner peace To do anything just as I please
In my own words I am wrapped Pictures and memories are strong As the past sings its siren song By pressure I am no longer trapped
You cannot enter uninvited here Because I am safe and without fear
