Origins

Research suggests that human beings can hold values, which express themselves in behavioral dispositions - the predisposition to act by choice in a certain way, when faced with a certain condition or stimulus which permits different responses. The expression of this predisposition ranges from very primitive behavioral routines, to very complex ones which may be difficult to detect or elucidate. Hofstede, a Swedish researcher, found 5 dimensions of national values: power distance, uncertainty avoidance, individuals-collectivism, masculinity-femininity, and short vs long term orientation.

Marijuana- plants the Indian hemp plant that is the source of the drugs marijuana and cannabis. Latin name: Cannabis sativa-----the Brain. Researchers have found that THC changes the way in which sensory information gets into and is acted on by the hippocampus. This is a component of the brain’s limbic system that is crucial for learning, memory, and the integration of sensory experiences with emotions and motivations. Investigations have shown that THC suppresses neurons in the information-processing system of the hippocampus. In addition, researchers have discovered that learned behaviors, which depend on the hippocampus, also deteriorate."Longitudinal research on marijuana use among young people below college age indicates those who used have lower achievement than the non-users, more acceptance of deviant behavior, more delinquent behavior and aggression, greater rebelliousness, poorer relationships with parents, and more associations with delinquent and drug-using friends------Regardless of the THC content, the amount of tar inhaled by marijuana smokers and the level of carbon monoxide absorbed are three to five times greater than among tobacco smokers. This may be due to marijuana users inhaling more deeply and holding the smoke in the lungs. There is substantial evidence linking marijuana to causal symptoms of depression, suicidal thoughts and schizophrenia. A teen brain is different than an adult brain in many ways. Ever wonder why high schoolers love things and love them so intensely? The limbic system, the area that controls memory and emotions, is highly developed, whereas the prefrontal cortex, the area responsible for judgment, is still developing, well into a person’s 20’s. This may be why teens tend to make decisions based on their emotions rather than reason.

Certain brain centers, such as the limbic system, are highly influenced by THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the active ingredient in marijuana. That’s right...the same centers responsible for memory formation, emotion, aggression and fear are significantly affected by pot.

The superior frontal gyrus makes up about one-third of the frontal lobe of the human brain. (A gyrus is one of the prominent “bumps” or “ridges” on the surface of the human brain.) Self-awareness, regarded as a key element of being human, is switched off when the brain needs to concentrate hard on a tricky task, found the neurobiologists from the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel.

The hypothalamus links the nervous system to the endocrine system via the pituitary gland (hypophysis). The hypothalamus, (from Greek 'ποθαλαμος = under the thalamus) is located below the thalamus, just above the brain stem. This brain region occupies the major portion of the ventral diencephalon. It is found in all mammalian brains. In humans, it is roughly the size of an almond.

The hypothalamus is responsible for certain metabolic processes and other activities of the Autonomic Nervous System. It synthesizes and secretes neurohormones, often called hypothalamic-releasing hormones, and these in turn stimulate or inhibit the secretion of pituitary hormones.

The hypothalamus controls body temperature, hunger, thirst, [1] fatigue, anger, and circadian cycles.

Several hypothalamic nuclei are sexually dimorphic, i.e. there are clear differences in both structure and function between males and females.

Some differences are apparent even in gross neuroanatomy: most notable is the sexually dimorphic nucleus within the preoptic area, which is present only in males. However most of the differences are subtle changes in the connectivity and chemical sensitivity of particular sets of neurons.

The importance of these changes can be recognised by functional differences between males and females. For instance, the pattern of secretion of growth hormone is sexually dimorphic, and this is one reason why in many species, adult males are much larger than females.

The team conducted a series of experiments to pinpoint the brain activity associated with introspection and that linked to sensory function. They found that the brain assumes a robotic functionality when it has to concentrate all its efforts on a difficult, timed task " only becoming “human” again when it has the luxury of time.

Psychoanalysis the part of the superego that passes judgment on thought and behavior to the ego for further consideration

Nucleus-Core-Focal point- considered as the source and center of emotional life, where the deepest and sincerest feelings are located and an individual is most vulnerable to pain

Let's face it, plenty of inebriated men and women have sex with people they would not normally look at twice - and it is these very encounters that tend to lead to real trouble like unwanted pregnancy, HIV or AIDS.

Booze makes brainless monsters of us all. So if you have had an accidental homosexual encounter when drunk, just resolve never to get that wrecked again.

Spirit- the capacity for courage and determination

The limbic system is a group of brain structures that play a role in emotion, memory, and motivation. For example, electrical stimulation of the amygdale in laboratory animals can provoke fear, anger, and aggression. The hypothalamus regulates hunger, thirst, sleep, body temperature, sexual drive, and other functions.

Romance is your desire to feel desire for change from a limited existence to recognizing & experience your unlimited potential. Romance is sharing of devoted & adventurous.

Love is caring friendship, affection & intimacy, SOUL-DEEP CLOSENESS. Union of emotion is a gift of experience given unto the soul (Emotions) Sex Act as it is called because you attempt/pretend to recreate creating your species or self. A temporarily substitutes a limiting frustrating repetition of silly unfulfilled movements “sexual act” If a man continues selfish & imprudent behavior, he will sound his own death tariff.

I believe love is primarily a choice and only sometimes a feeling. If you want to feel love, choose to love and be patient.

Sex- Sex refers to the male and female duality of biology and reproduction, a process in biological DNA that dates back 4.6 - 3.5 billion years. DNA links back in an unbroken series of sexual reproduction taking forward information to present day. The somewhat similar term gender has more to do with identity than biology. The concept is confined to organisms that reproduce sexually.Sex is for creating your species & can only fully be satisfy in this manner everything else is settling, faking, B.S.

Sexual reproduction is a type of reproduction that results in increasing genetic diversity of the offspring. It is characterized by two processes. The first, meiosis, involves the halving of the number of chromosomes. The second process, fertilization, leads the fusion of two gametes and the restoration of the original number of chromosomes. During meiosis, the chromosomes of each pair usually cross over to achieve genetic recombination.

Sexual reproduction requires the involvement of two individuals, typically one of each sex. Normal human reproduction is a common example of sexual reproduction.

Each of two parent organisms contributes half of the offspring’s genetic makeup by creating haploid gametes. Most organisms form two different types of gametes. In these anisogamous species, the two sexes are referred to as male (producing sperm or microspores) and female (producing ova or megaspores).

Compare to measure settings of performance levels & rightful superiority between your self & others as a personal worth or that of a human being. Lust is unnatural physical desire for sexual union release, with whom you enjoy companionship. You see, we all label things to try to understand, instead of understanding things to not label. We are constantly searching, as I look at this room here, in different rooms here. You are constantly searching for the right answer. You think you have it.

“The only way that you will really have the right answer is when you open the seat of the soul, when you look into the archives of allness, when you see through the oneness of the Eye of Siva, when you reflect and deflect consciousness in such a way that you will have your comfort zone. Don’t look at one another because you are certainly going to find faults. Those are the kinds of things that you are going to stop finding as your consciousness expands.

Sodomy, Narcissism, Ignorance, inferiority, superiority, false pride be gone no victims only volunteers. What is a friend? A single soul dwelling in two bodies.

LUST: “1. Bodily sexual appetite. 2. Excessive sexual appetite, especially that seeking of immediate or ruthless satisfaction. 3. An Overwhelming desire: a lust for power. 4. To have passionate or inordinate desire.” Again, we are defining a behavior which is not only excessive and overwhelming but also depleting to the SPIRIT OF LIFE OF GOD WITHIN YOU. Lust is “adversarial” to THE GOD/ATON within you because it is an unnatural, excessive DESIRE allowed experience only upon your 3rd dimensional physical plane. The poison seeds of the feelings of LUST have been cleverly planted, molded, encouraged and harvested by the ANTI-Christ to replace and destroy what is true GODLY unconditional LOVE of THE SPIRIT OF ALL LIFE.

Ego-It is the ego that prevented these creatures from appreciating God’s omnipotence, it is the ego that prevented them from submitting when such an opportunity was offered to them (33:72), and it is the ego that stands between most of us and redemption to God’s kingdom (25:43). This is why “Kill your ego” is one of the first commandments in the Quran (2:54). “Allow to bury the ego so that you could allow the spirit its proper ascension in this body so that this body can traverse and go freely within the other universes, or within the other spectrums of light. This is another thing that you do not understand. There is life within life within life.

EGO-Self-Personality-Character-Opinion of yourself- somebody’s idea of his or her own importance or worth, usually of an appropriate level- psychoanalysis in Freudian psychology, one of three main divisions of the mind, containing consciousness and memory and involved with control, planning, and conforming to reality  Super Ego-according to Freudian theory, the part of the mind that acts as a conscience to the ego, developing moral standards and rules through contact with parents and society.

Homosexuality refers to sexual behavior or attraction between people of the same sex, or to a sexual orientation. As a sexual orientation, homosexuality refers to "an enduring pattern of or disposition to experience sexual, affectional, or romantic attractions primarily to" people of the same sex; "it also refers to an individual’s sense of personal and social identity based on those attractions, behaviors expressing them, and membership in a community of others who share them."[1][2]

However, particular sexual activities (such as receptive anal sex in some cultures, or oral sex in others) were disapproved of, even as other aspects were admired. In cultures under the sway of Abrahamic religions, the law and the church established sodomy as a transgression against divine law, a "crime against nature" practiced by choice, and subject to severe penalties, including capital punishment"often inflicted by means of fire so as to purify the unholy action.

Sperm A spermatozoon or spermatozoan (pl. spermatozoa), from the ancient Greek σπερμα (seed) and ζων (alive) and more commonly known as a sperm cell, is the haploid cell that is the male gamete. It joins an ovum to form a zygote. A zygote can grow into a new organism, such as a human being.
Sperm cells contribute half of the genetic information to the diploid offspring. In mammals, the sex of the offspring is determined by the sperm cells: a spermatozoon bearing a Y chromosome will lead to a male (XY) offspring, while one bearing an X chromosome will lead to a female (XX) offspring ( the ovum always provides an X chromosome). Sperm cells were first observed by a student of Antoni van Leeuwenhoek in 1677.[

The human sperm is the main reproductive cell in males. The sperms differ in that each carry a set of chromosomes dividing each into either a male, or female sperm. The females differ in that they carry two X chromosomes, while the male sperm carry both X and Y chromosomes.

The purpose of semen is purely for reproduction, as a vehicle to carry the spermatozoa into the female reproductive tract. Although ejaculation of semen accompanies orgasm and sexual pleasure, erection and orgasm are controlled by separate mechanisms and semen emission is not essential for enjoyable sex in most people.

  • Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone (GnRH): Originating in the hypothalamus in the brain, GnRH is responsible for signaling the pituitary gland to start production of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and lutenizing hormone (LH).
  • FSH: This hormone is responsible for stimulating and maintaining sperm production.
  • LH: This hormone is responsible for getting the production of testosterone started.
  • Testosterone: Produced in the Leydig cells in the testes, this hormone helps with sperm production but it is mainly responsible for male maturation (the deepening of the voice, sex drive, growth and development of the sex organs).

Each individual normally has one pair of sex chromosomes in each cell. As a general rule, the Y chromosome is present in males, who have one X and one Y chromosome, while females have two X chromosomes. However there are exceptions where this is not the case, for details see Intersex. Many of the genes on the Y chromosome are involved in male sexual determination and development; two genes of particular importance for sex determination are the SRY gene (in humans and other primates) and UBE1 (in most other mammals).

At birth, males have simple round cells contained within their seminiferous tubules. This is the most primitive form of sperm. During puberty, stimulation by testosterone and other hormones cause the cells to divide, thereby beginning the maturation process of sperm. The sperm cells will divide and mature until they begin to resemble tadpoles, with an oval head and long, thin tail. Contained within the sperm head is all of the genetic information that a man contributes to his child. The tail is used to propel the sperm along its journey.

Once the sperm has developed its head and tail, it is shuttled along to the epididymus. Here it will enjoy a three-week stay by the end of which it will have gained the ability to move. Next, the sperm move through the vas deferens to the seminal vesicles where they stay until they are ejaculated. All along this trip, the sperm will be provided with fructose, a type of sugar, to give it energy as it travels along.

During ejaculation, fluid from the prostate, seminal vesicles, and Cowper’s gland combine with the sperm to make semen. This will be expelled from the body during orgasm. For fertilization of the female egg to occur, it is necessary to ejaculate inside the vagina. When a sperm cell reaches the egg the acrosome releases its enzymes. These enzymes weaken the shell, allowing the sperm cell to penetrate it and reach the plasma membrane of the egg. Part of the sperm’s cell membrane then fuses with the egg cell’s membrane, and the sperm cell sinks into the egg (at which point the sperm tail falls off).

Upon penetration the membrane of the egg cell undergoes a change and becomes impenetrable, preventing further fertilization of the ovum.

The reason is that the father-figure is a child’s first outer person. You are connected to your mother. In the first years of life, you don’t even know that you are different from her. As the first outer person you come in contact with, the father-figure leads you into the world outside yourself. When you haven’t been affirmed in this by your father, you are always uncomfortable and lacking in confidence in terms of your own image and your activity in the outer world. many men and women lack a positive masculine component. This come from the fact that they did not have a positive contact with fathers and male figures, especially early in life. They did not experience men who were demonstrative, who were communicative, who knew how to touch, who knew how to look into their children’s eyes, who knew how to talk to them. Most men are not able to do that. As a result, they fail to pass on what is best about them to their children. In many cases, if not most, the reason they don’t know how to do this is that it wasn’t passed on to them. This has been going on for generations in a patriarchal culture such as ours. Women rear the children, while men are largely bread winners and not involved in close relationships with children in their early years. The effect of this has been disastrous, in some cases, completely dominating people’s lives. They are unable to act, to trust themselves, to move into the world around them with self-confidence.

Prior to the Fall of humanity on planet Earth, our natural spirit-form was an androgynous Being of Light. Our one, whole, etheric body contained a masculine and feminine consciousness. Its one mind can be likened to a magnet with two, distinct poles of energy and influence. This one complete being was a divinely balanced blend of two twin consciousnesses within the same soul.

We came to Earth millions of years ago in order to experience and feel what is was like to exist at the 3-dimensional level and to bring a sense of Godliness to this plane of existence. We then lost our way as we became more and more attached to the physical pleasures Earth life had to offer. Eventually we lost our God-centeredness and became ego-driven or self-centered. At some point, our androgynous body separated into two halves as physical man and physical woman.

In order to help us remember who we really are, the reincarnational cycle and the law of karma that goes with it pulled us into its grip. We have been on that wheel of life-death-life for ages trying to recall our divine origins so that we can reclaim our God-centeredness and reunite with our twin soul, as we were prior to the Fall.

When twin souls separated from one another, one was assigned a masculine root gender, the other was feminine. When that happened, the male twin half retained a vestige of his twin's feminine energy. The opposite occurred for his other half.

Over many lifetimes each male and female counterpart has been trying to bring his or her masculine and feminine energies in balance. This doesn't mean that a woman has to be half feminine and half masculine. It means that she needs to fully develop her feminine characteristics, while at the same time allowing her masculine side to grow and mature as well. The opposite holds true for a man.

Sex, and specifically the orgasm, is more that just something that feels good and allows procreation. There are many other functions, such as the release of dysfunctional energy within the body, which can help to keep one from becoming diseased. There is the function that opens the higher chakras, and under the right conditions allows a person to begin the process of enlightenment. And further, if two people, lovers, practice sacred sex, the entire experience can lead them together into higher consciousness and into worlds beyond this plane.

In relationships, a simple sexual principle, as taught by the ancient Egyptians, can change the energy level within your body and help to bring strength and vitality into your bodies and your relationship.

The full subject in detail of Egyptian Tantra is incredibly complex, and cannot be completed in an article of this scope. But we can speak of the heart of the matter " the human ankhing experience as practiced by the ancient Egyptians.

the connection to eternal life.

Most people in the world are ignorant about what happens to their sexual energy after they have an orgasm. Usually, the energy moves up the spine and out the top of the head directly into the eighth or thirteenth chakra (same chakra, different system). In a few rare cases, the sexual energy is released down the spine into the hidden center below the feet, the point opposite the one above the head. In either case, the sexual energy " the concentrated life-force energy called prana in Hinduism " is dissipated and lost. It is similar to discharging a battery into a ground wire. It is no longer in the battery and so it is gone forever. This is what all the world's Tantric systems that I am aware of believe, that orgasm brings one a little closer to death because a person loses his or her life-force energy in the orgasm and is made weaker. But the Egyptians found long ago that it does not have to be this way.

It is for this reason that the Hindu and Tibetan Tantra systems ask the male to avoid ejaculating. Instead, they speak of these tiny invisible tubes where, when a student learns to control the orgasm and the flow of their sexual energy, the sperm migrates up to the higher centers.

Both of these systems, and also the Chinese Taoist Tantra system, are all primarily concerned with the sexual energy flow, sometimes referred to as ''sexual currents.'' They are primarily concerned with what happens as the sexual energy is moved before the orgasm, but they all have entirely different views of this energy compared to the Egyptians.

The Egyptians believed that orgasm is healthy and necessary, including the release of sperm in males, but that the sexual energy currents must be controlled in a deeply esoteric procedure that is unlike any other system. They believed that if this energy is controlled, the human orgasm becomes a source of infinite pranic energy that is not lost. They believe that the entire Mer-Ka-Ba or lightbody (the field of energy surrounding and interpenetrating the body) benefits from this sexual release. They even believe that under the right conditions the orgasm will directly lead to eternal life, and that the ankh is the key.

Egyptian ankhWhat is the ankh, and what has the ankh to do with sexual energy? It is complicated to explain, but we will simplify. First the ankh itself is a shape that looks like the figure at right.

In order to see and understand what took thousands of years for the Egyptians to grasp, we will begin with the fifth, Universal Heart Chakra. This lower heart chakra, the chakra of Unconditional Universal Love, is the first place where the energy completes itself. Each chakra has a ''direction'' associated with it, as the life-force energy rotates its way up the body in a pattern similar to the DNA molecule. In the lower heart chakra, the fifth place of a thirteen chakra system, the energy is facing the same direction as it began, and thus the circle is complete.

  1. The moment you feel the sexual energy about to rise up your spine, take a very deep breath, filling your lungs about 9/10th full, then hold your breath.

  2. Allow the sexual energy of the orgasm to come up your spine. But at the moment it reaches the fifth chakra (located just a couple of finger-widths above the sternum), with your willpower you must turn the flow of sexual energy 90 degrees out the back of the body. It will then automatically continue inside the ankh tube. It will slowly turn until it passes exactly through the eighth (or thirteenth) chakra, one hand-length above the head at 90 degrees to the vertical. It will then continue to curve around until it returns to the fifth chakra, where it began, only this time in the front of the body.

Even if you don't understand what was just said, it will happen automatically if you get it started out the back of the body at the fifth chakra, and it will automatically come back around to the front of the body and reconnect at the fifth chakra. You just have to make it turn 90 degrees so that it begins.

  3. It will often slow down as it approaches its point of origin, the fifth chakra. If you can see the energy, it comes to a sharp point. When it approaches the fifth chakra from the front of the body, there is sometimes a tremendous jolt as it reconnects with this chakra again. All this takes place while you are holding your first breath.

  4. The instant the sexual energy reconnects with its source, the fifth chakra, take in the full breath. You had filled your lungs only 9/10th full, so now you fill your lungs as completely as you can.

  5. Now exhale very, very slowly. The sexual energy will continue on around the ankh channel as long as you are exhaling. When you reach the bottom of this breath, you will continue to breathe very deeply, but a change happens here.

  6. It is here that, if you know the Lightbody work of the Mer-Ka-Ba, you would begin to breathe from the two poles using Mer-Ka-Ba breathing. But if you are like most people and don't know this work, then continue to breathe deeply until you feel the relaxation begin to spread throughout your body. Then relax your breath to your normal rate. Feel every cell becoming rejuvenated by this life-force energy. Let this energy reach down into the deepest physical levels of your body structure even past the cellular level. Feel how this beautiful energy surrounds your very being and brings health to your body, mind and heart.

  7. Once the relaxation begins, slow your breath down to a normal shallow breathing.

  8. If possible, allow yourself to completely relax or even sleep for a while afterward.

If you practice this for even one week, I believe you will more than understand. If you practice it continually, it will begin to give health and strength to your mental, emotional, and physical bodies. It will give great strength and power to your Lightbody, as well.

If for any reason this practice does not feel right, stop and return to normal. It just is not time.

Serpent Power

Thus the renowned Hatha-Yoga master B. K. S. Iyengar has explained the connection between breath control and the elements as follows:

In our body we have five elements. The element responsible for production of the elixir of life (prana) is earth. The element of air is used as a churning rod, through inhalation and exhalation, and distribution is through the element of ether. Ether is space, and its quality is that it can contract or expand. When you inhale, the element of ether expands to take the breath in. In exhalation, the ether contracts to push out toxins.

Two elements remain: water and fire. If there is a fire, water is used to extinguish it. This gives us the idea that fire and water are opposing elements. With the help of the elements of earth, air and ether, a friction is created between water and fire, which not only generates energy but releases it, just as water moving turbines in a hydroelectric power station produces electricity. To generate electricity, the water has to flow at a certain speed. An inadequate flow will not produce electricity. Similarly, in our system, normal breathing does not produce that intense energy. This is why we are all suffering fro stress and strain, causing poor circulation which affects our health and happiness. The current is not sufficient so we are merely existing, not living.

In the practice of pranayama, we make the breath very long. In this way, the elements of fire and water are brought together, and this contact of fire and water in the body, with the help of the element of air, releases a new energy, called by yogis divine energy, or kundalini shakti, and this is the energy of prana.7

1. prana, in the sense of the ascending vital energy that is chiefly located in the area between the navel and the heart and is linked particularly with inhalation but can stand for both inhalation and exhalation;

2. apana, which is the descending vital energy associated with the the lower half of the trunk and with exhalation;

3. vyana (“through-breath”), which is the vital energy circulating in all the limbs;

4. udana (lit. “up-breath”), which is connection with physiological functions such as speech and eructation, but also the ascent of attention into higher states of consciousness;

5. samana (lit. “mid-breath”), which is localized in the abdominal region where it is connected with the digestive process.

Chakras are energy centres which govern the subtle, psychosomatic aspects of our inner being. This Sanskrit term means wheel or disk, and when the chakras are awakened, they turn in a clockwise direction. The chakras open up like flowers and pour out their qualities re-establishing our inner balance and restoring our health and form.

Chakras: The seven chakras

The conventional system has seven charkas:

7. Sahasrara Chakra

Situated in the limbic area, it represents the integration of all the chakras and all the aspects of the Divine within us. The Sahasrara is the destination, a holy place filled with the silence and the bliss of the Spirit.

6. Agnya Chakra

Situated in the middle of the forehead,at the optic chiasm, where the channels of the subtle system cross. The agnya is the straight and narrow way leading to the Kingdom of Heaven, the state of thoughtless awareness. forgiveness.

5. Vishuddhi Chakra

Situated in the neck and the throat, this centre is in charge of every aspect of communication between human beings. From a physical point of view, it controls the cervical plexus. It governs the five senses and enables us to achieve the witness state.

4. Anahat Chakra

Situated behind the sternum, where antibodies are produced to protect our subtle system. This chakra gives a sense of security. It controls the heart plexus.

3. Nabhi Chakra

This centre is the seat of our attention, and it transmits material well-being and inner peace. solar plexus..

2. Swadhistana Chakra

This centre gravitates around the Nabhi, providing support for its action and creating the area of the Void. It symbolizes the creative sense within us. When the Kundalini rises, it enters the Nabhi, goes down to the Swadhistan and up again to the Nabhi. aortic plexus.

1. Mooladhara Chakra

Moola” means root, and “adhara” the support. This chakra brings support and protection to the roots at Mooladhara, to the Kundalini, and to the whole subtle system. It is at the base of the left channel. It controls the pelvic plexus and gives innocence and wisdom.

According to Vedanta the only thing to be destroyed is ignorance about one’s real nature, and this ignorance cannot be destroyed either by study, or by Pranayama, or by work, or by any amount of physical twisting and torturing, but only by knowing one’s real nature, which is Sat-Chit-Ananda or Existence-Knowledge-Bliss. Man is divine, free and one with the Supreme Spirit always, which he forgets and identifies himself with matter, which itself is an illusory appearance and a superimposition on the spirit. Liberation is freedom from ignorance and the aspirant is advised to constantly dissociate himself from all limitations and identify himself with the all-pervading, non-dual, blissful, peaceful, homogeneous spirit or Brahman. When meditation becomes intensified, in the ocean of Existence or rather the individuality is blotted or blown out completely.

The world creators in short:

ATUM from Heliopolis made everything (even himself) of his own sperm through masturbating or spitting. He then created woman from a bit of flesh from his hand.
PTAH from Heliopolis in Lower Egypt made the world by simply saying words and made earth raise from the water, very similar the story in the Bible.
RE (also from Heliopolis) is told in a rather late poetic legend to be the creator by using a tear from his eye to build all the world.
KHNUM from the island of Elefantine in Aswan in the south, was the creator who made the world and all its people on his potter's wheel. The stuff was mud from the Nile.
KHEPER (representing Re) made all other gods from matter taken from his own body. He also created life (symbolically) every morning by commanding the sun to rise.
AMON from Thebes was during the New Kingdom vaguely connected to the creation of the World, saying that he once (like Atum) had created himself at the dawn of time.
THOTH was in Khemenu (Hermopolis) in Upper Egypt, the maker of the world and the first ones he helped to life were four frogs and four snakes, the so called Ogdoad.

The Court in the Underworld

When a person had died he was taken to Underworld where his deeds in life were taken to the Court of Osiris for the final judgement. Since this place also was called "The Island of Fire" it's quite obvious that the Egyptians had knowledge about the burning interior of the Earth though they had no volcanoes in their own country. Before coming there the dead person had to pass a labyrinth of gates and doors and answer questions correctly to pass through. The lion-god Aker let him through the last gate and he was facing the fourteen members of the jury in the Tribunal Hall. There he was allowed to speak about his behaviour on Earth. (Shown in the upper left in the picture below).
Then god Anubis took him into the courtroom presenting him the scale where his heart would be put in balance with the feather of the goddess Máat, patroness of truth and harmony. The procedure was recorded by Thoth - the god of writing and wisdom. Sometimes Thot's animal (a baboon) was sitting on top of the scale ready to adjust the result using a sliding weight.

 Osiris' Court in the Underworld
The deceased enters from the left guided by Anubis. His heart is placed on the scales and the result is recorded by Thoth. Then Horus takes him in front of the judge Osiris for the final verdict. Behind the throne stand Isis and Nephtys.

If the heart of the deceased wasn't too heavy with sins from his life on Earth, he went through and could continue his voyage to the afterlife and was granted a plot of land in the "Field of the Reeds". This was the paradise for the ancient Egyptians - to grow crops for eternity in a land that was the very image of the Nile Valley they just had left.
If he failed the test on the other hand - his heart was immediately devoured by the beast Ammut sitting under the scale ready to have a good blow-out. In that case the dead faced the most horrible future imaginable for the Egyptians - he was denied an eternal life in the land in the West and his soul would be restless forever.

The seven steps to Paradise

1. Crossing the celestial river by Nemty to the "Land in the West".
2. Passing through gates and labyrinths by answering questions.
3. Being let into the great Court of the Underworld by the god Aker.
4. Addressing a jury of 14 judges about the deeds during life on Earth.
5. Taken by Anubis to "Balance of Truth" to weigh his heart for sins.
6. If the heart wasn't heavy, brought by Horus to Chief Judge Osiris.
7. Entering the "Fields of the Reed" (Paradise) and get eternal life.

The Book of the Dead

The Book of the Dead was (in most versions) an illustrated manuscript which consisted of prayers and magical texts to be used during the funeral and read over the dead to ensure the survival in the afterlife.
These texts were a necessary part of the funerary equipment and were thought to help through dangers of the Underworld. Over 150 burial spells were written on papyrus and placed with the dead and the content has been traced back to the Old Kingdom Pyramid Texts from 2.300 B.C. and had probably a long oral tradition before that.
Each nome (province) and even towns had their own version putting text mentioning the local gods in favour.
For poor people (i.e. the average Egyptian) there were versions not so elaborated (and expensive) and just containing the essence. A big part concerned the moment when the dead came in front of the jury in the Underworld. There he would make confessions like: "I have not killed or used false weights on my balance, or caused pain to anyone". Then he usually stated things like: "I have given clothes to the naked, water to the thirsty and bread to the hungry" etc, all to convince the jury members of his kind-heartedness.
One spell was spoken in front of a tribunal of 42 gods, and proclaimed innocence of a series of specified sins that covered every kinds of wrong doing. This made the soul worthy to go further into the Judgement Hall where the Court of Osiris (see above) had the final word. Being approved of there he was ready to embark on the Boat of Re to sail to the "Land in the West" for eternal rest.

Ka and Ba (body and soul)

The purpose of preserving the body through embalming is clearly shown in the two components the Egyptians thought built up a man's personality. In both cases the physical body was essential for their existence and an eternal life for the deceased.

The Egyptians believed that every person (during life and after) was followed by an invisible double called - Ka. He was created at the moment of birth and stood for "force of live" for the person. He could not be seen or depicted but all big tombs had a "blind door" for him to use. After death a transformation of rebirth took place and every night he was released to give his dead master a spiritual travel to the land of the living. The travel itself was made by his soul Ba (see beyond). This was a link from the tomb to life on earth that was supposed to go on forever.
The poor commoners who couldn't afford an embalming were offered small simple statuettes of mummies to give their Ka someone to stand beside in the life beyond and thereby please their life-long companion and get eternal rest themselves.

Ka (left) walking beside the body
and Ba who was dwelling within.

The human soul was called - Ba and was depicted as a bird with a human face, sometimes with the features of the dead person. The Ba (like Ka) appeared for the first time at the moment of birth, but the Ba was dwelling within the body, and after death in the mummy. During life he was his master's conscience and after death he was himself protected from being misled by evil spirits through rituals and prayers from "The Book of the Dead" performed by priests or relatives. A correct behaviour in both worlds was essential to the Egyptians.
After death he was released from the mummy every night and could fly back to the world of the living to check things out. Before sunrise he was back within his master, who thus never lost contact with the world he had left.
