A lonely life

A lonely life

A Poem by Caroline B A Maguire
"

Lonely but never alone

"
I sit here in the quiet
My mind is at rest
I am content in my thoughts
I am not alone
For He is with me always
But I am lonely still

The journey has been hard
Harder than hell
I've walked it more than once
And I've walked it alone
Save for my invisible friend
Yet now I have found peace
From my dark thoughts
But I am lonely still

Someone to tell my story
A lover or a friend
That path is not for me it seems
So here I write my tale instead
And I thank you dear reader
For taking time to stay
It helps to mend my hurt
But I am lonely still
