Darling I Ask

Darling I Ask

A Poem by cassandra violet

I want to hold you,

Tease you,

Be with you.

I want the memories

Which are becoming as black

As the coming night

That grows upon me, upon us.

But more then anything

I want to ask why

You were afraid,

Why we said such hateful words,

How we pated in the dusk

When we were once a sunrise.

Beautiful work Cassandra. You paint quite the picture of love and loss. Eloquently stated in wonderful form.

"How we pated in the dusk" Did you mean parted? The only def I found for pated was a balding head...doesn't fit here.

I loved this poem! The last stanza is my favorite!

But more then anything
I want to ask why
You were afraid,
Why we said such hurtful words,
How we pated in dusk
When we were once a sunrise.

I think alot of people can relate to that one stanza!

Funny how things change with time. The infatuation wears off, then the real test begins. I like the metaphors. Nice one.

I hate this part. This is the part where I try to tell you who I am, what I've been and what I want with every single last milimeter of blood dancing in my veins to become- the person who my heart bea.. more..
