Beyond Compare

Beyond Compare

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

(forgive my endless love of nature)

"
Across the margins of this bay,
I watch the ocean's tides at play,
in gentle movements on the shore.

And white topped crested waves roll in,
that lace-like leave a loving hem,
caressing pebbles left in wet.

Behold the drifting, morphing veils
of billowed softness, cloudy trails
as sail boats conquer cobalt sky.

While gold, the bold and welcome stare,
see sequin flecks from sun unfold
to dance sweet tempered on the sea.

Beyond compare these treasures are,
so too our rainbows, moon and stars,
small gifts that nature brings to please.

"that lace-like leave a loving hem" I very much like this line and Your wonderful metaphor, I was smiling and couldn't help but to think of us women as the rulers of this world lol there is something alluring trough Your words, of course those who appreciate the wonderment of nature try to paint the scene which captured their hearts, and share it with the same haunted way it struck them, like here dear Chris, and You did it with a gentle lovely brush! oh and with NO DOUBT You are totally forgiven! ;)

Having just spent a couple of weeks in Bridlington, where I could watch the sunsets. tides and seabirds on the cliffs from our window , I could immediately relate to your poetic descriptions. I relied on photos, but your words convey the atmosphere so much better.
