Moon Thoughts

( a lady of moods, one of two poems posted)

she gifts the radiance

of lunar light to those in peril

on ocean's waves or those 

who cry out pleading for some

sanctuary in far off lands whilst

in the hands of dictators

her luminous shine has been

a comfort to many a soldier

of life seeking solitude in the 

early hours, too weary to find

sleep, too exhausted for rest

she is a constant on our journey

from the day of our birth to that

final breath taken on earth, her

stunning beauty beguiles, ever

a source of mystery is this lady

of the night, a bright lantern

for the lost and lonely

A wonderful poem shared dear Chris. I love the moon. I ensure to show my grandchildren my full moons and we seek the Fall moons and the blue moons. The Native Americans believe, the moon held great mystery and power. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry my dear friend.

I too am fascinated by the moon. All the different shapes and also the different colours. Silver, gold, pink. I have seen and loved them all. I think Native Indians are right. There is both power and mystery in the moon. Good you share it with your grandchildren. They will always remember sharing that with you. Thank you dear Coyote.All good things to you and yours.

You killed it on the last line Chris. How many silly ayem scenes has it illuminated, as we ponder lifes meaning, with coffee in hand. Much much many much I'd wager!
Yet if it were to take a night off, we would all take it as a sign of the impending apocalypse and scare the bejeesus out of ourselves....
But we won't, will we? Us through the nighters will just nod, smile and know, she's just having a lie in 😀
Now, even for me, this is still a really weird review, but that's just me, not your fine work, honest.
It is strange how the moon can affect us, eh? 😀

I have mixed emotions about the moon
I do think it is beautiful in its many phases but if I am looking at it, I am usually awake when I would rather be asleep
