Illumination

Illumination

A Poem by Chris Shaw

sol rises as night scuttles away
strikes gold rays on old trinkets
treasures in silly sentiment

early morning brings new glory
burnished in blazing brightness
dazzling in pretty preciousness

take a bow on that window cill
appreciate lateness of applause
overdue recognition duly noted

seeing through new eyes
opens up mind's vast corridors
to all those avenues less explored

Hello, Christine! :)
Thanks for sharing your upbeat perspective. Ive been lacking exuberance lately, not enough change going on, I guess. Maybe I should fake it a bit and see if that gets things rolling. Haha

I like " mind's vast corridors " especially as it leads here to " avenues less explored "
it's good poetical stuff and expressed in a fresher form.
But " cill " perhaps is the wrong spelling. I've looked it up , googled it, just in case I've missed this spelling of it.
It just might be petty me cos the whole piece looses nothing by being spelled that way.
So, I'll shut up now, but I do really like those two (are they known as adverbial) phrases mentioned.
Regards from Rew.

I like the alliteration and I really like the "moon scuttling away"---
they are treasures...and not silly to see them with new eyes.

Ah, what a quaint little piece. LOVE the subtle alliteration. Almost makes it skip and hop along, pulling the new sun with it. I really enjoyed the unique way your presented this Chris. It's quite lovely. Enjoyed it very much!
