A lovely read Chris.... Sometimes when in the heat of things, something in you inner place, your inner spirit goes awry.... and nothing is said, but the feelings the passion somehow fades, for whatever reason... no words, just the know how... the sense that something has changed... no words needed... you just know something is different.
Best, B

Yeah, that moral compass often lies anyways; every time mine tries to kill me, I punch out. Verse four and seven are fantastic, the allusion to your company being a full bodied red wine stopped me, but what really got me was the dopamine gaze on seven… powerful. If this is autobiographical, I hope it went well; I enjoyed reading about it.

Thank you Shannon. A very old memory. I appreciate your review.
Such an enjoyable read dear Chris. Sometimes things are said in innocence yet taken as an affront and.....sometimes things are said deliberately with a show of innocence. I know that feeling when the heart skips and we try not to show a change in the magnetic field. You have shared so much with these words. Great lines! Very nice write! Temp

Many thanks Temp for your encouraging review. All the best.
What an interesting poem in a delightful sort of way. Sometimes conformity goes out the window with emotion rushing in. That can send the "moral compass" spiraling. You've some wonderful phraseology here. I enjoyed the read.
nothing said, an opportunity passed by...both people feeling it, but not expressing it.
Oh, what could have been...if just one would have taken the first step.
"time a small word/ in an unnecessary dictionary"
I wish I had written those lines.

Thank you J. What a lovely compliment you have paid me.
Albert, my paternal grandfather introduced me to Tennyson when I was nine. I have loved poetry ever since but did not attempt writing a single piece until I was 40. It's never too late to try somethin.. more..
