Lift Off

Lift Off

A Poem by Chris Shaw

when moody waters wrestle
with darkest swirling thoughts
and whirlpools deep inside your mind
are dreams you never caught
take heed and lift your head up
to gaze where stars are found
and stay there till it’s safe again
to land on kinder ground

Chris this is a wonderful inspiring poem. It offers hope. A message so profound and universal as we all need this at times ‘take heed and lift your head up to gaze where stars are found’ beautifully said. A great title too. Lift Off indeed. This is a gorgeous poem. Going into my favorites. Utterly beautiful.

Dreams are to be glimpsed at and pondered upon, captivity kills them… the dreamscape is beautiful and safe if lift off is achieved! Wonderful, Chris 🙏🏻🕊

You’re most welcome, Chris. Hope the changing of seasons is treating you well 🕊🙏🏻
Very nicely rhymed piece that is also good advice. When you find yourself in a negative mindset, it is best of focus on positive things asap. Dark moods can cause us to do or say things we may regret later.

This reminds me of the saying "We are all stuck in the mud, but some of us are looking at the stars"I believe that only a thought can change your life. But I also believe that not all thoughts are true. There is a line in between. My therapist told me that people try to change their thoughts first instead of changing their behavior. Because you can't take action unless your thoughts change. I really liked your poem. In my favorites. Really powerful. I wish everyone hopeful thoughts.
