This poem feels very soft and reflective, and I like how it approaches loss in a calm, almost comforting way rather than something overwhelming. The imagery creates a peaceful atmosphere that makes the memories feel alive and meaningful. I also think the ending is really strong, it leaves a quiet but lasting impression. Thanks for sharing this!

Thank you kindly for such an encouraging review. Your visit is appreciated.
A tender elegy—grief softened by time yet still singing through memory.
The imagery glows with quiet love, that final line stitching loss gently into the heart.
They never truly depart us, do they Chris? Only become unseen to others, while they are kept in your heart eternally.
The decades don't fade these pictures like old photographs, it strengthens our connection to those no longer here to be seen by others.

Some people in our life dear Chris. They become a part of us.
"the decades since passing
grow distant it’s true
yet lingers that sorrow
it plays on a harp"
I like and understand the above lines. Sorrow become like music. We learn to accept. Thank you dear friend for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Albert, my paternal grandfather introduced me to Tennyson when I was nine. I have loved poetry ever since but did not attempt writing a single piece until I was 40. It's never too late to try somethin.. more..
