Forever My Darlings

Forever My Darlings

A Poem by Chris Shaw

on a glorious morning
my losses rise up
a choir of golden
they sing from blue sky

and though i am thankful
their faces aren’t blurred
today is for memories
there’s no time to cry

the decades since passing
grow distant it’s true
yet lingers that sorrow
it plays on a harp

its song pure and loving
as feelings don’t change
forever my darlings
the hem on my heart

You often write so well about feelings, and they're expressed nicely here. Thanks for another lovely piece of verse.

Hi Chris, today i cried missing you and him and my son. Its like a decade travel, missing him. We became old lost our time where we needs to be. I didnt think his face would get deteriorated
That much. Me too got vulnerable. God has tdken much patience of ours. I know it had hurted you too. But today jan 9 2024, remained a special day for me.

Yes, loss can be a gray sky that always lurks in the background, but the blue skies of love, affection, and good memories keep them away. A wonderful poem, Chris.

Indeed, wonderfully laid, Lady Chris 🥀
As is your appealingly deft wont.

From the moment you first arrived on the Café's doorstep, in 2018, I've followed and admired how brilliantly your compositions have consistently matured … I was even proudly able to pass along a hint here 'n there. : )
"Forever My Darlings" speaks metaphorically to my own heart, as if every line were beautiful, poignantly-caressing waves upon a tender shore … and, no one does metaphor more wondrously brilliant than you so adroitly do.

Thank you, Dear Chris, for being You and a joy for us all.
Here's wishing you the most enthralling 2024 … big HUGS! ⁓ Richard🖌
