a pitcher of sunshine
pours through undressed
window glass
a pure liquid gold
to pool on white sheets
crumpled in disarray
drenching exposed toes
kissing ankles
to settle on veiled thighs
how warm starts my day
Dear Chris, this is just my kind of dream writing. I wonder, how did I miss this gem? What you did here was create a visual that melts in the readers minds, a pitcher of pure, overflowing gold, the undressed glass is in no position to resist and then it goes on to pool in bliss on white sheets in early morning dissarray. Loved it and repeating it because I'm enjoying it so much. "how warm starts my day" - speaks to me of an abundance of gratitude and joy. And here's me, wishing you countless mornings of such unforgettable poetry. Write on, my friend, you did such wonders here, as always!

What a lovely way to start a day - and a poem, too! I want to sleep with you just to feel that pitcher pour on me! But no funny business! My wife would have my head -- and yours, too! Another terrific piece.

Lovely and sensous morning poetry. Liquid Gold sun rays on sheets, no curtains but veiled thighs all fill in vivid imagery of intimate and tender moments.. enjoyed it dear Chris!
The simple things like sunshine through a window can be so satisfying. This is a nice description Chris. One that the reader can see.

Love the image of liquid sunshine drenching toes, kissing ankles, and slowly spreading slowly to veiled thighs. It is a deliciously vibrant image to wake the senses--even in a cloudy day.

Oh, the hint at what might have happened before the sunrise is absolutely elegant here. "Undressed window glass"....wonderful phrase!! May all your mornings start this way. Lydi**

Thank you dear Lydi** for your kind words. All good wishes to you and yours.
Albert, my paternal grandfather introduced me to Tennyson when I was nine. I have loved poetry ever since but did not attempt writing a single piece until I was 40. It's never too late to try somethin.. more..
