A Fresh PerspectiveA Poem by Chris Shaw
i watch from my garden chair
captivated by movement of newly hatched leaves and their gentle sway in the afternoon heat the trees in the distance respond waving politely in shades of green since the cypress was felled two years in the past i have grown fond of this lighter vista the outlook has brightened and widened where once the shade blocked out the summer sun now in its place open space there is room to breathe the air is less crowded where i feared the change and mourned the loss of an old friend instead the sky is a backdrop i see birds in flight blessed am i with new found light © 2026 Chris ShawReviews
