A Kiss From Spirit

A Kiss From Spirit

A Poem by Chris Shaw

the wind blew chill
my eyes grew tears
i felt the absence of her arms
i stood in silence
called her name
expecting nothing in return

but then a warmth crept over me
from head to toe
her presence felt
my mother’s soul took hold of me
embraced the cold
brought on the melt
like snow touched by the sun
in spring

the sadness lifted like a mist
at dawn upon the river’s flow
the minutes passed
i held her close
my heart wished she would never go
a gentle breeze then she was gone

but not before she left a gift
she left me with a loving smile
she left me lifted
left me raised
she left me with a mother’s kiss

Touching and soft as a morning mist it speaks to all since there are none have no mother. Well written it calls upon deep feelings. Nicely done

I believe those who pass on occasionally let some of us know they're around in some way. If only everyone could experience a scenario like yours it would assure them the afterlife is real.

You have a certain grasp on the human condition. In another life, you'd be a porn star.

Porn star? I’ll stick to this life but thank you for stopping by.
My mother's been dead for about 30 years and yet I still wonder about her. We had her arguments, but also jolly and rather funny bits. She had a few jokes to spare. Thanks for some memories, Chris.

A mother's love is the gift that keeps on giving Chris, even after they are gone.
Beautifully written.

Very beautiful lines,

Hi Chris,
Today is my 🎂 birthday i need your blessings.
but not before she left a gift
she left me with a loving smile
she left me lifted
left me raised
she left me with a mother’s kiss

These lines are touchy any mom would feel elated.

Thank you Chris. I had good day with my parents.

Very occasionally I come across words encapsulated within a poem that make me realise that I am just a beginner when it comes to the art form of my own personal preference .. This is one of those sets of words our Chris .. Now off to bed with the kind of tingle I am unable to adequately describe but imagine will remain with me until I drift off & hopefully dream or catch a whiff of my own dear mum ..
