A Kiss From SpiritA Poem by Chris Shaw
the wind blew chill
my eyes grew tears i felt the absence of her arms i stood in silence called her name expecting nothing in return but then a warmth crept over me from head to toe her presence felt my mother’s soul took hold of me embraced the cold brought on the melt like snow touched by the sun in spring the sadness lifted like a mist at dawn upon the river’s flow the minutes passed i held her close my heart wished she would never go a gentle breeze then she was gone but not before she left a gift she left me with a loving smile she left me lifted left me raised she left me with a mother’s kiss © 2026 Chris ShawReviews
