Passage of time reflected

From the beginning I watched over you,

 for I made sure you were protected.

 Hugged,  loved, kisses I blew,

 not for a minute were you neglected.

 

 In time,  I knew I had to let you fly,

 go off and learn about life's directions.

 I sighed with relief when you soared so high,

 in the waters I saw your reflection.

 

 For now I find as time passed me by,

 that it is I that needs to be hovered.

 Tis the circle of life, I cannot deny,

 In time,  you too will discover....
