City's Burn

On a Hot day in the city, description of emotions afire

 

 

Below in the pavement
In the city in which I dwell,
Lies a blanket of steam
In which all begins to swell.

The summer heat's beaming
Taking all in it's embrace,
The cracking sidewalks steaming
Sweat beading on my face.

All things slow down,
Work hard are but a few.
It seeks everything around,
Engulfing all, aged and anew.

As those continue to shed,

The Materials on their skin.

Bearing self, nothing said,

Just the sighs from deep within.

 

Seeking comfort from this heat,
Is what all living things need.
No means to flight any defeat,
The blaze continues to feed.

As thoughts of the autum winds,
Cross the desires as we yearn.
Continuing to singe
Under the city's private
