In my heartA Poem by Autumn's ChildRemembering a lover from the past.In my heart we lie on sheets of warm brown, worshipping every monument of each other's temples, memorizing the way the salt tastes of every inch. In my heart we are racing Time as he stands guard looking at his watch, impatiently tapping his foot as we plead for one more memory to make. In my heart you are missing me, hoping I won't forget you and the way your blue eyes laughed with the dimple placed at the corner of your mouth. In my heart we fell in love and our lives have been forever changed. But in my mind I knew you were gone the moment you kissed my lip and drove away down my street, through the air, over the sea, and landed on the island you'll call home. In my mind I know that to you I am just a body maybe a friend but not a temple that you knelt before to worship. In my mind I know you've already forgotten the taste of my skin and it's not even a thought in your mind. And in my mind your blue eyes laugh with the dimple placed in the corner of your mouth at the joy in life, for you live in it and I was only a part. © 2008 Autumn's ChildReviews
