Destiny of Knowledge

a poem written for a contest on the theme of inner wisdom

Knowledge is a key to humankind’s destiny.

The passion for it drives so many mad.

Lack of it destroys the essence of humanity.

So many have more than they ever use,

Others defy and burn it from natures disgrace.

The seeker of wisdom is a brave soul.

For many things, the truth, never known,

Explanations is what we all crave

Challenges are what the human race,

Exist for and eagerly with no conditions,

Have raced and accomplished much.

Though the inner wisdom we lack, burdens,

Our spirit and continues its fight for peace.

Peace is within our reach if we just grab.

Turn the key to love and fellowship, outward.

Stop the chastity of empathy for the one.

Reach out give faith and hope its chance.

I like the basic idea of this, but it feels like there is something missing. I'm not sure what that is, though.

"The seeker of wisdom is a brave soul."

That is my favorite line. Keep up the good work.
