Stereotypical, Cliché PoemA Poem by Grenouille RousseI was going to write you a poem...
I was going to write you a poem
But then I realized That it would sound just like Every poem you read on Tumblr Or Facebook Or Twitter Or whatever. But if I did Write that poem I would have written about All these cliché things Like how I want to Wrap you up in blankets And cuddle while we watch movies Probably some classics from the 80s. I would write about Us wearing sweaters And watching the leaves fall Drinking some hot beverage Maybe something with chai Or pumpkin spice Or gingerbread. I'd say things about Building forts with sheets And pillows And couch cushions And when we're done Set up a string of lights Pretending they're stars. In that poem I would probably say something about Your eyes Behind your glasses But I feel like an idiot Because I don't even know What color they are. Of course I'd write about Kissing you How everything could be perfect Everything could be beautiful Everything could be real. We wouldn't have to worry About what they say About what we hear About anything. I would put that all in a poem But it would be just like Every other poem you could find Written by a girl like me. I'm sorry I can't write you something More creative.
