Arise, oh dawning sun of my soul;
Erase arid illusions and make me whole.
Sense the brushed incantations of van Gogh;
Conjuring this City of Lights in indigo.
Flaring from the stars rose a hymn,
In its muted melody my mind did swim.
The chorus transformed into a lullaby,
Mesmerizing mist of a migrating butterfly.

Thank you for copying the poem as the white on the painting is a little bit difficult to make out (-;
I adore the rhyming.
The story you tell is of disillusion and hoping to dispell it. I like you referred to a hymn to accomplish it.
I do love butterflies!
Thanks,An Owl On The Moon, for sharing.

So few realise that life is an illusion splintered into many mini-illusions and you have crafted that fact ever so very finely in this v-e-r-y spiritual poem, dear poet. Awareness brings transformation and you have delightfully painted that through excellent word choice. Lovely use of various figures of speech. Visual detail is stunning and your choice of graphic to complement your words is excellent. I so enjoyed reading and thank you for sharing, dear poet.
