Standing On My Own

 

I’m standing on my own

I wanted to tell you all that

That I have changed from the person I was months ago

I’ve worked hard and I’ve done my own projects

Remember when I was dependent on others charity

To succeed in this world

I’m doing better on my own

I’m floating now, someday I’ll swim

I’m standing on my own

I wanted to tell you all that

The day of my return I would like for your recognition

On the growth of this once child

Into someone more respectable and giving

I am doing well by my own

Though I still require the knowledge of your existence

I just wanted you to know
