It’s revealing that first secret

Of some TV character crush

That walks in skirts

Or

Turning pink as she smiles

Making to fake no attraction

Playing coy to

Boys who like boys

Knowing the girls who like girls

Watch through skeptical gazes

That her eyes are a step

Away from ‘mine’ jealousy

It’s the first crush

You’re puttin’ forth effort

In the return of a cracked heart
