Bouquet for the Dead

Bouquet for the Dead

A Poem by Tenten

Bouquets for the Dead

Plastic stems of green

Imprinted with lines

To add the image of life

Roses and lilies birthed in fabric

Glue drops of dew

Eternal bloom to lay and wither

Gathering dust as they shred

In an audience of tombstones

Of mournful eyes

And broken hearts

A gift for the dead in exchange

For the goodbye that will not

Leave these tear tasting lips
