Turn Back TimeA Poem by Tenten
She wants me to turn back time If I could, I would Even at the loss of these new souls No, these now known essences That man, this girl, that moose Death, wind, flow, and breath I’d loose them all To make her happy To rid that loneliness from her She wants me to turn back time To her era of walks and late night familiarity Of friendship and open flow A writer and a reader Moonlight, street lamps, text messages Sneaking out the window That fat can waiting for ‘squishy’ Late night burritos And the promise he said of ‘always with you’ She wants me to turn back time I want to make her happy I want the stain of him, That memory of his existence The recall…scar of his betrayal to leave her The burden he placed on her to no longer be I want her to be happy Without the false hope she feeds the mirror Like I, that he will return
