The Past

The Past

A Poem by Tenten

There was love that existed once upon a time

Did you breathe the same smoke filled air as I?

Ash that fell and burned filling Mother with our poison

A final goodbye could rid this pain

The sound of your voice could cause damage

But your eyes, that coldness, that distance in 3 steps

Can turn to canyon depth and I move easily away

Distance hurts the burdened heart

But long ago in fairy tale riffs love existed

The you and I of once upon a time

No longer beats

A solid truth
