Funeral Eyes

Funeral Eyes

A Poem by Tenten

A funeral procession for the living

A party for the dead

The judgment for the breathing

Watch, see, and learn who loved

       Who cared enough

To come and view the last parting

Of a lifetime

A judgment for the breathing

The party for the deceased

So many faces to behold

A line of friends and family

The tears and anger, the blame of dying

Ending a lifetime, a lineage

A party for the deceased

Captured by "A party for the deceased," memories of tragic death bubbled up from within. I connected through experience. Thank you so much.

This is good. Dark but still very good! What a way to describe death and a funeral! Great poem!

This is a very dark piece, and your disgust towards death & those in your life that didn't come to see you die is very evident. I love the repetition of the line "A judgment for the breathing" and the idea that someone's death is actually a test for the living, to see whether or not they really care. Very nicely written. ^___^
