Funeral Steps

Funeral Steps

A Poem by Tenten

Their words

Their cautious steps

Their gentle hugs

Their calm touches

It helps, somehow, someway

It all helps

To rid the thoughts

That death has come

In spring time days

And stolen in spring time nights

Their words

Their cautious steps

Their gentle hugs

Their calm touches

Say silently in these tired eyes

That maybe this once

It will not be a shame

To cry these tears

For the ones I let die

Ouch!! Know too well how it feels to lose someone you love. The part that got me the most was your guilt in that last sentence "the ones I let die". It is not your responsibility to give or take away life, my friend. Not that my saying that will really help for I too know a thing or two about feeling that kind of guilt. Love your title to this poem and the feeling of going through the precession line. Sorry for your loss.
