Child's World

Child's World

A Poem by Tenten

Open eyes behold the world

Birthed to the child

Conceived in unwanted nights

Closed eyes deny that world

Left to the child

Curled into your cold arms

So long to live

Too short to stay

Games and pleasure

Smiles and breaks

Hear the bird song

Taste the rain water

Feel the earth beneath bare feet

Catch the scent of blooms in wind

Open eyes behold the world

Birthed to the child

Conceived in unwanted nights

Closed eyes deny that world

Left to the child

Curled into your cold arms

Hear the trucker passing,

                pollution to the world

Taste the fumes

                of cars on the runway

Feel the cold cement

                cracking from the growth beneath

Smell the oil and anti-freeze

                that goes by your window

Open eyes behold the world

Birthed to the child

Closed eyes deny that world

Left to the child

I just sit here with such an empty feeling now.
You did great with this one.
Th repetation works fine and I like the way you made it into a wave alike read, by keeping some lines to the left and some to the right - it gave it something extra.

This left me sad and lonely, wondering how to change the world.
