Denied Confession

Denied Confession

A Poem by Tenten

I gave a confession of love
In the new generation clichéd method
Otherwise known as e-mail
Because even texting is too cool
More precisely too cold

For me to say
'I like you'
Midnight letters to say
For months I've yearned
For a single kiss
Not the brightest idea
But I sent it
And she replied

In return for my heading 'yo'
She gave me a 'hey'
And I got
"It's cute"
I can live with 'cute'
Too bad it won't get me anywhere

Now I get it
And it stings
But I got a friend, she's still here
So it’s not too horrible
Having given my confession
Of 'hey I like you'
To her in written words
