Stepped OutA Poem by Tenten
it use to be my guilty pleasure
Melissa Ethridge and KD Lang
late night TV movies that hinted
occasionally screamed against
the lifestyle my parents preached
by not such good example
my blushing face hidden behind
unkempt hands holding back
that childish giggle of
the surreal possibility that
someone else, like me
then too young to notice
still too young to understand
that i might be in the wrong
and closets are where i could have staid
but naive eyes
don't see boarders
striving always for the truth
